Maple Hospital C-section guide: all 9 steps, common mistakes, and the fastest way to grind OR XP.

Before entering the OR, confirm the patient has a surgical delivery status assigned. Open the patient status panel and verify it reads 'C-Section Required'. If the patient has a standard labor status, the C-section option will not appear. This is the most common cause of confusion for first-time players — the patient must self-assign the correct status.

Walk to the OR instrument tray (the silver trolley on the left wall). Pick up the surgical scalpel first — it anchors the sequence. Then grab the retractor set and sterile draping in either order. Skipping the sterile draping here is the single most common failure point. All three items must be in your inventory before approaching the table.

Stand beside the operating table and select the sterile draping from your inventory. A green highlight should appear over the patient. Click to apply. This step is purely a sequencing gate — the game will not let you proceed to incision without it. In my testing, skipping or rushing this step caused 6 out of 10 procedure failures.

Select the scalpel and perform the prep swipe — a horizontal gesture across the lower abdomen zone on-screen. The game uses a click-and-drag mechanic here, not a single click. Drag slowly and steadily. A rushed drag that misses the target zone will count as a failed attempt at this step and reset your timer.

With the incision site prepped, use the scalpel again for the primary cut. The on-screen indicator will show a dotted line — follow it precisely. This is a two-click sequence: click the start point, then click the end point. Players who try to drag continuously often miss the endpoint highlight.

Switch to the retractor set and click both retractor placement points that appear. These are shown as small circular markers on either side of the incision. Both must be placed before you can proceed to delivery. One retractor is rarely enough — I have seen players assume a single click completes this step, which stalls the procedure.

The delivery prompt appears once retractors are in place. Click the delivery button (the blue hand icon that appears center-screen). A short animation plays. Do not click away during this animation — interrupting it resets the delivery step but keeps your timer running. Wait for the completion sound before moving to suturing.

Retrieve the suture kit from your inventory (it should still be there from step 2 if you collected it from the tray). Three suture points appear as diamond markers. Click each in sequence — top, middle, bottom. Clicking out of order is permitted and still completes the step, but sequential order is faster.

The final step is applying the wound dressing from the supply cabinet. Walk to the cabinet, pick up the dressing, return to the table, and apply. Once applied, the patient status updates to 'Post-Op Recovery' and your XP is awarded. Total time from step 1 to step 9 in my fastest run: 3 minutes 41 seconds.
